Each year, Viena hosts the popular Life Ball, a charity event that raises money for the fight against HIV. Before the event takes place, they release the Style Bible to explain the theme and dress code, which this year was GOLD. And to do so, what better than a photo session with photographer Inge Prader, recreating Gustav Klimt’s most iconic works with real-life models.
The organisation brought to life Klimt’s golden phase, to highlight the Viennese Secession led by the artist. Art direction was led by Gery Kessler, CEO of Life Ball, and his team. 83 models, stylists, make-up artists, students and more than 130 volunteers participated in the project.
As the organisation explains, the theme was chosen because both Klimt and the Viennese Secession broke the mould, aiming for individuality and autodetermination, a beautiful metaphor for the Life Ball, which fights against HIV stigmas and social taboos.
