Photographer David Benjamin Sherry once again takes us on a journey his emotional landscapes. The book “Earth Changes” was born when a friend convinced him to compile a selection of his photography of the American West.

Born in Woodstock, New York, Sherry lives and works in Los Angeles, California. He photographs nature using traditional 4-by-5-inch film, which is altered in the darkroom, resulting in chromogenic prints in brilliant hues. He portrays landscapes and applies vivid colours, focusing on the dramatic shifts in the environment.

“Living in L.A., I feel that the air quality, the draught, the earthquake presence, and the wildfires make it feel more real than it ever had before” he said. “I felt like this is how I need to be making my work and documenting change … reacting to it (the environment) and thinking about it took over my entire headspace in every possible way.”
