1. How were your journeys to become interior designers? When did you decide to join forces?
We come from Canada and Spain; our backgrounds are in art history, couture and psychology. This whole melange brings Clemente Beaubien to life where we can express our passion for textiles, furniture and spaces.
Based in London, the interior design studio develops each project personally and extensively, no matter the scale, and down to the smallest detail. This includes antiques, artworks and the use of bespoke joinery and cabinet making, which paired with a bright and airy palette make it cosy and comfortable. And also utterly charming. 2. You seem to look for ‘quiet elegance’ in your work. Do you see it that way? What other sensations do you want to convey through your work?
We define Clemente Beaubien as having an impeccable sense of design and endless energy to create stunning yet liveable interiors. When our clients walk into their homes, our aim is for them to see sophistication and to feel comfortable and confident.

3. What do you think makes a home ‘a home’? Do you have any rules you stick to?
A home is somewhere you feel completely at ease and is uniquely crafted for you. A place that welcomes you every time you walk through the door, somewhere you can look around and you recognize it all. Do we believe in rules? Not really, but these we always take into account: listen to your client, go that extra mile and be brave.

4. What inspired you in the past and what inspires you today?
From the beginning we have been lucky enough to travel the world and that is what has always inspired us; every Island, every city and every new surrounding brings something refreshing to our designs.

5. What is the project you are most proud of?
We’ve recently finished work on a wonderful listed house in Notting Hill. The whole process was really exciting as we got involved with everything from re-designing the layout to creating custom paint colours that made the most of the light. We went on buying trips to the Paris flea markets to find totally unique pieces as well. To work so closely with a family and see how thrilled they are with the result is extremely satisfying to us.
