For his Haute Couture Spring ’15 collection, Giambattista Valli decided to create a conversation between Coco Chanel and Janis Joplin. This meant the usual trip to fashion fantasy, but also a ride on the dresses-over-pants wagon. Here are a few things from his show that we will be fantasying about for a quite a while.

The Metropolitan Museum’s “dialogue” between Elsa Schiaparelli and Miuccia Prada inspired Giambattista Valli to create an impossible conversation of his own between two of his muses. The romantic layered skirts-over-pant looks were a wink at the the black-and-white shades Coco always favored and the bell-bottomed trousers Joplin and her psicodelic crew might have worn.

The next must-have hair accessories might just be black bows and veils. We love the rock ‘n roll feel to it.

A ticket to an edgy fantasy land made of floral embroidery, silky ruffles and flurry of tulle. It’s no wonder he has become one of the wedding designers of the moment.

The BIG show-stopper gowns were also present. What might be the world’s biggest sugar pink gown closed the show.
