The Ginkgo biloba is regarded as a sacred tree expressing the notion of yin and yang and it is the longest living tree on the planet. In autumn its green leaves turn golden yellow, and it is this color that inspi- red Verónica Martínez to create the Ginkgo chandelier.

To create a bespoke Ginkgo lamp Verónica goes to her Ginkgo tree and carefully selects branches to use in the creation of the piece. The Ginkgo lamp is made of cast brass, employing the “lost wax” process, a method often used in jewellery making.

The ner stems of the lamp are cast using actual branches from the tree and ve different leaf molds are made for the leaves to be cast in brass. Once they are cleaned after the casting process, the branches and leaves are assembled by skilled sculptors under the careful direction of Veronica, thus creating a unique piece each time.

The chandelier is carefully constructed with ambience in mind and it can be dimmed to the desired intensity of light, creating soft ginkgo leaf shadows that give the feeling of being under the golden tree. The Ginkgo lamp can be created in any size, for ceilings or walls, and also in bronze or aluminum.
