Challenging rules of gravity, mass and equilibrium, Friedman Benda Gallery’s ‘Poised’ table has enlighten everyone at this year’s PAD London, winning the prize for best Contemporary Design Object. Designed for the New York gallery by Paul Cocksedge, ‘Poised’ table is inspired by the elegance and amenability of paper.

‘Poised’ is a table made from half a ton in weight of Corten steel, which balances on one end and curves back on itself to create the top. The steel table is perfectly weighted and stable in spite of its appearance, thanks to the angle which it is folded, which makes the top and base point in different directions.
