Masterpiece 2019 London is a short walk from Sloane Square. South Grounds, The Royal Hospital Chelsea, London, SW3 4LW

The Unmissable Art Fair (27 June – 03 July 2019) returned for the 10th year. This year’s Fair presented more than 155 exhibitors including 22 new galleries offering the opportunity to discover exceptional works for sale from over 150 exhibitors from the whole world and every major market discipline.

Worldwide, Masterpiece London is known as a meeting place for collectors, dealers, and creatives and has earned its reputation by combining the best in contemporary art and design with masterpieces from the past.

The art fair’s is catalog as an “aesthetic adventure” because of its unique approach to curating exhibitors and carefully placing each dealer next to another. One encounters timeless antiques, modern masterpieces and contemporary works all in the same space. Also, they have committees to examine each piece in their own field to ensure that the exhibit is in good condition, clearly labeled, and worthy of exhibition.

This London Fair dedicates a special portion of the fair at the entrance to one of Britain’s leading contemporary female artists, Phyllida Barlow in reference to the supersized Pom-Pom Works she first developed in the 1990s.

Among our favorites was the display of Hauser & Wirth. This year with a presentation which draws on the theme of ‘threads’, a reference both to the materiality and the narratives of the works selected. The booth will feature works by artists including Louise Bourgeois, Geta Brătescu, Alexander Calder, Eduardo Chillida, Luchita Hurtado, Anna Maria Maiolino and Pablo Picasso, exhibiting 20th-century modern masterworks alongside outstanding contemporary voices.

Table lamp by Axel Enoch Boman at Modernity

This vibrant lamp is one of only two known objects designed by glassmaker Axel Enoch Boman for Orrefors, a glassworks in the Swedish village Orrefors in Samaland that closed in 2012. The traditional flower decorations in etched cameo technique relief illuminate both the base and the shade. The difficult glassblowing work was carried out by another important craftsman at the factory, Knut Bergqvist
